Sharbat

Sharbat is favourite refreshment of hot summer days. A mixture of any sharbat and ice water cools you down and the aroma tranquilizes your soul.

Khakshir (Sharbat-e Khakshir)
Kakshir is another famous Iranian drink, mostly suitable for summers. It consists of tiny reddish-brown seed which are called teff in English. These tiny seeds are great source of calcium, fiber and protein! Also for those who suffer from liver diseases, Kakshir is the best herbal medicine. Ancient herbalists called it “Wisdom of Surgeons”. mix of Khashir seeds, water and honey.

Sekanjabin with Cucumber (Khiar Sekanjabin)
One of the oldest Iranian drinks, tried almost in all Iranian family parties, is Sekanjabin with cucumber. This traditional Persian drink includes water, white vinegar, fresh mint, peeled and shredded cucumbers, sugar or honey and lime rind.

Tokhm-e Sharbati
Tokhm-e Sharbati is called basil seed in English. This Iranian drink also has so many benefits for your health. It reduces food craving and blood pressure and also has high amount of Omega-3.

Golab-za’feran
Mix of rose water and saffron, Tokhm Sharbati (chia seeds) and Khak Shir (descurainia). Iranian traditional medicine is based on the idea that everything in the world, from objects to human body, has warm or cold nature. That’s why distillates and sharbats are not just refreshments, they are remedies.

Sharbat-e beh limoo (quince-lime sherbet)
Mix of quince, vanilla bean split, lime juice, syrup and chilled water.

Sharbat Albaloo
Beautiful pinkish red sharbat, made of sweetened sour cherry syrup. It is by far the most popular fruit sharbat existing in Iran. Other fruit sharbats are Shahtoot (king of berries, it looks like large black berries but has a richer taste) and Tameshk (a variety of wild berries, also very delicious).

Bahar Narenj(orange blossom)
Sekanjabin or Serke-Angebin (sometimes served with graded cucumber, very much recommended by traditional medicine of Iran).

Juice

Ab Havij
At first juice could seem very simple, but you will be surprised to learn that carrot juice is so popular in Iran! It is called Ab Havij and you can order it Sadeh (plain) or as Havij-Bastani (carrot juice with a chunk of traditional saffron ice cream) which is an all times favorite regardless of the season.

Ab Anar or pomegranate juice
As serious as the Iranian identity! variety includes torsh (sour), shirin (sweet) and malas (sweet and sour).

Ab Talebi
Another popular street drink. It is blended honeydew melon with ice and a little sugar.

Doogh
It’s better to start with Doogh. This amazing, unique and refreshing Iranian drink is made of yogurt, water and mint. The unusual fact about this beverage is that it is salty. Yes, this salty drink dates back to old days of Persia.
