Our Tea Services

At Sadr Historical Guest Home, serving tea and damnoosh are important to us as it is a way of going back to our roots and being proud of what we have as a culture.

The dominant drink in Iran is Chaiee, hot black tea, equivalent to English Breakfast Tea. Damnoosh is general term for herbal tea, a mixture of different herbs, brewed to heartwarming aroma and color. Some famous damnoosh are Babooneh (camomile), Chai Torsh (hibiscus), Beh (Quince, normally with Cinnamon), Ustukhuddus (Lavender), Na’Naa (Mint), Beh Limoo (lemon beebrush), Bahar Narenj (Orange Blossom), Gol gavzaban (borage), Hel (cardamom), Darcheen (cinnamon), Saffron and many other kinds.

At Sadr Guest Home we have perfected the art of making damnoosh by mixing different fruits and herbs. Order a damnoosh for a relaxing afternoon or warming up in cold winter days.

we stock a huge range of damnoosh as well as refreshing liquids known as aragh, made from distilled herbs like fennel and willow.

We want to show you that it is just as cool to drink traditional Persian drinks like aragh-e nana (a sweet, distilled mint extract) as it is to drink Coca-Cola.

The whole part of northern Iran along the shores of the Caspian Sea is suitable for the cultivation of tea. Especially in the Gilan province on the slopes of Alborz, large areas are under tea cultivation and millions of people work in the Persian tea industry. That region covers a large part of Iran’s need for tea. Iranians have one of the highest per capita rates of tea consumption in the world and since old times every street has had a Châikhâne (Tea House).
