The House and Situation
Killiecrankie Hotel sits in four acres of wooded grounds with a delightful garden. To the west side a rose garden, a long herbaceous border and, for our team of chefs, a well-stocked kitchen garden.
The shrubs and trees give refuge to a plethora of small birds and at breakfast through the large picture windows guests can enjoy watching their playful habits at the feeders. One can often catch a glimpse from their breakfast table of a red squirrel, jumping through the trees to reach the feeder on the huge Douglas Fir out front.
The house faces the wooded hillside of Craig Fonvuik across the Pass of Killiecrankie and the River Garry, and to the east and north of the house, there are expansive lawns and wooded grounds.
Bar and Sitting Room
Our cosy, wood-panelled Bar is a popular haunt used by both locals and visitors for lunch and supper. Here you will find 55 or more of some of Scotland’s finest malt whiskies.
There is also an elegant sitting room with an open fire for the colder months and when the weather is warm, it opens on to a small patio and the fine herbaceous border.
Dining options
Our Restaurant continues to gain recognition for the quality of our food in all the leading hotel and food guides. Our daily changing Table d’Hôte dinner is served in the elegant dining room.
The Conservatory Bar offers lunches and suppers in a relaxed informal setting. All food is prepared by head chef Mark Easton and his talented team. Non-residents are welcome any day of the week for a drink, a snack or a full meal.
